The role of the Church in reaching out to the world with the saving grace of Christ’s salvation must be demonstrated in words, deeds and action as the Bible says faith without works is dead…” James 2:26.

As Christians; we have been called into a life of total devotion to God, and service to mankind. This was aptly demonstrated by Jesus’ action when He fed five thousand people with a little boy’s lunch.

Today, the world is plagued with catastrophes from one region to another. Yet the bible says “ye are the light of the world …” Mathew 5:14. We have a calling to respond to the cries of many who may be affected.

And in response to the humanitarian crises and dire need experienced by the people of Haiti in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake which left untold suffering and destruction in its wake, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome organized a special Musical Concert to raise funds to send relief materials to the children in Haiti.

The concert which was tagged Hope Haiti Concert; Mission for the Children was a huge success; It was a musical night of hope, healing and restoration, which we know will bring succor, and restore hope once again to the children in Haiti.

Speaking at the special music concert, the Man of God, Pastor Chris stressed the importance of reaching out to save the lives of children, especially those in Haiti whose future have been affected following the massive earthquake which struck the country.

Like the special song sang for children by Pastor Chris, “If you really can do all things through Christ, reach out… reach out now….” we must live our calling in Christ.

whatsoever ye ask the Father in my name, he will give it you (John 16:23, King James Version)

The above verse of scripture gives us direction on the right way to pray; praying In The Name of Jesus.

Throughout the scriptures, there is no place where we are told to pray to the Father through the name of Jesus. What the Bible teaches is for us to pray ‘in the name of Jesus’.

At this point you may ask, is there is a wrong way to pray? The answer is Yes! When you pray to Jesus in the name of Jesus, or through the name of Jesus, that’s contrary to God’s word; you don’t pray to Jesus in the name of Jesus, neither do you pray to the Father through the name of Jesus. You pray to the Father “in the name of Jesus”.

To pray through Jesus is to make Him a medium to the Father, and that’s wrong. But to pray in the name of Jesus means you are standing in His place. You have been given the legal right to use His name.

You may fellowship with Jesus, and tell Him how much you adore Him, but you don’t pray to Jesus. So, if you have a request to make of the Father and you want that request granted, do it in the name of Jesus, not to Jesus or through Jesus.

So, you do not pray through Jesus, you pray to God the Father in the name of Jesus. That’s the right way to pray.

Communication is one of the most important activities in life; and in this article we will discuss the communication that exists between man and God, which is established through Prayer.

Man is a Spirit but lives in a body; hence his needs are essentially spiritual. That explains why throughout generations, man has constantly craved for spiritual contact with God.

Though he was the Son of God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ understood the importance of communing with the Father in Prayer as recorded in Mark 1:35 “ … in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed”

On another occasion, it was recorded that Jesus prayed all night. Though He was the Son of God, He didn’t take prayers for granted. He understood the importance of prayer as an important means of communing with the Father.

What a blessing to know that you can communicate directly with your heavenly Father; and that He constantly seeks to commune and have fellowship with you every single day.

Remember, God’s purpose for His children is for them to live in the realm of the supernatural always, and He demonstrates His love and closeness to us through such displays of the miraculous. As you communicate with your Heavenly Father in Prayer, expect a miracle today.

For more insight into the subject of prayer you can go over our January edition of Rhapsody of Realities as all 31 articles were on Prayer.

Malachi 4:1-2 …….2: But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall…….”

The scripture above talks about a terrible day that is coming; a day of turmoil when people will have a lot of questions without getting the needed answers. The day will become hot and burning, but the Bible says that you shall rejoice and jump joyfully;

Our Man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, in his New Year Message titled, “Year of the Greater Light” explained that the expression rejoice and jump joyfully” means to Gambol (Malachi 4:2 Amplified Version)

The Bible further says that “Upon you shall arise the Sun of righteousness with healing in his wings”. The “Sun” here refers not to the physical rays of the Sun, but the Greater Light of God’s presence which rules the day, Praise God.

You therefore have an advantage over the difficult days ahead, the challenges the world is about to witness is not to destroy you; they are your opportunity to “Gambol”, “Rejoice” and “Shine” Halleluyah!

This is an opportune time of the Spirit in this Year of the Greater Light!

The Word has gone forth from our Prophet and Man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, and it is our responsibility to make these words realities in our lives.

On the 7th of January 2010, Pastor Chris gave a word of Prophecy by the Spirit; a call to TAKE HEED TO INSTRUCTIONS.

Pastor Chris says “Your success this year will be dependent on your walk with the Holy Spirit; therefore give earnest heed to His instructions this year like you have never done before… Let an excellent spirit be found in you and be diligent, put away falsehood and delays, and pray fervently about your work, job or business… Partner with the gospel of Jesus Christ like you have never done before”.

Pastor concludes by saying “If you will follow these instructions, the greatness that is encapsulated in your spirit will be revealed in your life in an extraordinary fashion, and all men shall see it”

The word of the Spirit has gone forth; we are privileged to receive these words of instructions and direction from our Man of God, Pastor Chris. Therefore one of the ways to position ourselves to walk in the reality of the Greater Light is to take heed to these instructions of the Spirit.

Congratulations, and welcome to 2010 – The Year of the Greater Light!

This is indeed our Year of The Greater Light as declared by our Prophet and Man of God, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

Reading from the book of Genesis Chapter 1 verse 16, Pastor Chris expatiated on the difference between two kinds of Lights; the Greater and the Lesser Light, And God made two lights; the greater and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also”

A major point to note however is why the need for two different kinds of lights? For what purpose are the two different kinds of light?

Reading verse 14 of Genesis Chapter 1, Pastor Chris told us that God created the lights in the heavens for a particular purpose, “And God said, let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night, and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years”

We see here that God created the Greater Light for a reason, to rule, and exercise dominion and authority over the day. God created the lights to set a distinction between the day and the night.

This is God’s plan for his children; we are expected to exercise authority and dominion over all situations and circumstances because we shine as light in a dark world. We have been called out and set apart to display the glory, (beauty and perfection of God) to the world this year.

This is 2010, an opportune time of the Spirit when God intends for us to function in the Greater Light, through His word.

The greater light is the light that rules the day,

It is not the sun; it is the Lord’s presence in Zion

We are born there, that’s where we live.

Walk in the greater light in 2010.

No darkness, no night in your life in 2010
